The Use of Stories in the Language Teaching at the Primary School

The diploma thesis is focused on the use of stories in language teaching in primary school, especially the Czech language. The theoretical part contains basic information about the method of telling stories, storytelling, its possible use in the Czech language and experience with this method in teaching the English language. To work with stories in Czech language classes, the storytelling method is included in the Framework Educational Program for basic education, both in terms of student outcomes and competencies that could be developed in classes using storytelling. The work is devoted to the process of selecting and creating a story, its placement in children's literature and the criteria that should be met for the story to be accepted by pupils. The space is dedicated to the application itself in the teaching unit and to the offer of specific methods and exercises enabling the inclusion of storytelling in teaching. The work deals with the very process of creating a story based on the listed words for the 4th grade, describing the progress of the teaching unit as well as the reaction of the pupils in the lesson, and the preparation of the control test and evaluation. The Technical Monuments in Region And How to Use Them in Primary School Education

This diploma thesis describes the topic of technical monuments of the region and their use in teaching at the primary school. In the theoretical part, I deal with four main areas. The first area is devoted to the characteristics of the child of younger school age. The second area deals with primary technical literacy, its goals, concepts and components. The third area gives a brief description of the technical areas in the RVP ZV. The fourth and final area deals with the characteristics of selected objects of the pupil's place of residence for application in technical education at the primary school. The practical part contains three lesson preparations and two preparations that have been implemented. The developed and verified preparations are intended for pupils from the second to the fifth year of primary school. The practical part contains worksheets and reflections from the lessons.
Educational activities increasing financial literacy for upper primary school

This bachelor's thesis focuses on problems of teaching financial literacy at the second grade of elementary school. It is primarily intended for teachers who look for inspiration for teaching financial literacy. The thesis is based on documents called Standard of the financial literacy for elementary education from 2017 and General education program for elementary education from 2021. Activities are based on recommendations described in a document Methodical recommendation for teaching financial literacy from 2013. The thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part is focused on defining basic terms and who should be educated in financial literacy. There is also defined what should be taught in financial literacy at the second grade of elementary school and how it should be taught. The practical part contains seven activities which were created according to documents described in the theoretical part. Activities are focused on various parts of a document called General education program for elementary education from 2021 and they are trying to cover as much of the curriculum as possible.
Examples of world's cuisine on primary school

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of preparing world cuisine dishes in primary school teaching. In the theoretical part, the thesis focuses on three main fields. The first field describes project teaching. The second field deals with a brief outline of the Czech education system and an insight into the Curriculum Framework for Primary Education. The third and final field describes food preparation and presents various cuisines from all around the world. The practical part contains four lesson plans and an excursion plan associated with the food production. Four lesson plans have been intended for pupils from the third to the fifth year of primary schools and have been tested there. The practical part also contains worksheets and the feedback form evaluating the cookery lessons.

This diploma thesis concentrates on Interdisciplinary relationships and Integrated learning in the educational areas of Mathematics and its Applications and Arts and Culture. The aim of the diploma thesis is to prepare a set of exercises from the thematic area of geometry at Lower primary school, which integrates a selected curriculum in both educational areas. Exercises are focused on the concepts of symmetry, area of polygons and covering plains. Selected exercises are realized and verified in educational practice.

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of cross-curricular relationships between civics and geography in elementary school education. The aim of this work is to provide an overview of these interdisciplinary relations between both educational fields. This was achieved through a content analysis of the thematic units of the curriculum presented in the Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education. Based on the obtained data, the author designed eight model teaching units that were put into practice. Individual teaching units were subsequently evaluated. The main contribution of this work is finding numerous compatibility between both fields, which can be used in everyday pedagogical practice.
Specific of Roma Population worked out through the means of Drama in Education

This thesis focuses on the topic of multicultural education based on elaborated methods and techniques of drama in education. The theoretical part deals with the drama in education, its objectives, methods and techniques, and its inclusion in The Framework Educational Program for Basic Education (FEP), then on the Roma population and its specifics, multicultural education, its goals and its inclusion in the FEP. Through structured drama techniques in the practical part I try to explain school children the history, culture, values and way of life of the Roma population reflected by assimilation policy of the Czech Republic of the last century. Via this drama in education lessons focused on learning the specifics of the Roma population, I make an effort to prevent or influence prejudices. I have chosen to focus on this ethnic minority as it is the largest ethnic group in the Czech Republic and it is exposed to probably most significant racial prejudice. Practical use of Botanical Garden of the Faculty of Science Charles University in Prague for Education of Lower Grades of Primary School

The theme of this diploma thesis is Practical use of the Botanical Garden of the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague for Education of Lower Grades of Primary Schools. The main purpose is to chart current status of a theme of botanical garden in curricular documents, namely The Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education and School Educational Programmes of chosen elementary schools located in Prague 2. Further, the presence of this theme is explored in the sample of schoolbooks for the 4th and the 5th grades of elementary schools. There is a questionnaire survey realized among teachers of the 4th and the 5th grades in the schools listed above. The aim is to find out, how much the Botanical Garden of the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague is used for practical education. The results are shown in charts and graphs. The readiness of this botanical garden for practical education of lower grades pupils is found out by an interview with its vice-director. The next part of thesis contains planning and realizing a lesson with the 5th grade pupils. The lesson demonstrates a possibility of more frequent practical education in the botanical garden. Combining moral, character and social education with multicultural education in a realization of a project focusing on Romany people

This thesis deals with the problems concerning cross-curricular subjects, in particular focusing on Multicultural Education and Moral, Character and Social Education, their defining in the Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education. Furthermore, it outlines the possibility of their interconnection in a concrete project with the topic of Romany. This thesis is based on the conviction of the importance of the transcultural approach to the Multicultural education in practise. It also deals with the character of a teacher mainly in the relation to the above mentioned cross-curricular subjects. The main objective of this thesis is the actual realisation of the project in two selected schools. The project has already been put forward in my bachelor thesis. I committed myself there to the realisation of the project in practise and for that purpose the project itself had to be adjusted, namely shortened due to its time demandingness. The actual evaluation of the project is also a part of the practical section of this thesis.
